Fido Dido in Ireland

He was popular on this side of the Atlantic ~12 years ago, but today I received a post card from my sister, sent when she was in Ireland, saying that he's popular there at the moment ("still on all the billboards here"). Is this (him popular there atm) really true?

7Up is owned and manufactured by Pepsi outside of the US. A marketing campaign to boost sales last year in Ireland brought that character back. It is not something which was in use prior to that. I can't comment on other markets.

Yeah, fido is making a comeback on my part of the world also.

What I really want is, someone to ressurrect the Tintin line, and reprint all the titles. That will be awesome.
