This will also be the last of the new 2004 iPAQs to be released, but it looks to be deliberately done so to target the business market and not the regular consumer market.<br /><br />It seems as if HP has taken lessons from Dell since the iPAQ hx2000 series comes in three different variations: the low-end hx2110, the mid-level hx2410 and the high-end hx2750. The hx2000 series also have in common the relatively new Intel® Bulverde PXA270 processor. Other than the optional fingerprint reader, and the Intel processor, the series does not introduce anything eye-opening new to the world (as for example, the touchpad of hx4700). From an Pocket PC enthusiast's point of view, the hx2000 seems quite boring and in a quite surprising contrast to the hx4700/hx4705, none of the models in this series includes a VGA screen but only a regular QVGA screen. The business orientation of this model is very evident since all models include the HP ProtectTools security software."<br /><br />So much for the hx moniker -- they're all QVGA. Nevertheless, some great details in there; for example, all three are listed as having a flip cover.

So much for the hx moniker -- they're all QVGA.Hmm...at first I thought that was wrong and they were VGA, but now I'm not sure.

Well, look like some nice specs, but I'm still happy with the hx4705. Now if BestBuy.com would only ship it. :|

Since this one is for business, and the rx3715 is for entertainment, I wonder where the 4700 is supposed to fit in. I personally wish the 4700 had the RAM from the hx2000 and the camera and remote-control, etc. from the rx3715 to go along with the 4" VGA screen.

So who was it at HP that set the challenge to make two of the buttons hard to press without accidentally pressing another one by mistake? ;-)

That said, for those happy with QVGA, these sound like pretty solid devices and the 2750 would be a nice upgrade for a 2210 owner.

I wonder how HP will price them, though...

It is likely that I will never buy another iPAQ again if they keep this crap up. I am really NOT impressed with these new designs. Some of the tech specs are nice, but I don't like the way any of the new series devices look or feel.

I concur. I've decided that I'll likely use my 5550 for as long as I can (ie, until death or loss of the unit) before I get another iPaq.

Uhhh, that is my bad... :oops: (My coffine system contained too much blood. ;) ) The typos are fixed by now; the screen is a QVGA.

I'm very happy with my Loox 720 on the other hand. It is so much fun using landscape mode to browse the net. :cool:

hx is for business market. it has nothing to do with vga or qvga.
