Restoring a backup from a different device

I'm planning on buying a Dell X50v (when they come out). My question is: I did a backup from an Audiovox 5050PPC (it's a Pocket PC Phone edition) - can I restore what I backed up onto the Dell X50v?

For that matter can a backup of one device be restored to a different device (with the same version OS)?

Simply put. No. The X50v is a different machine and you must start from scratch as some programs compatible with SE and you risk changing important files that may turn you new PPC into a new house brick. That's for any backup/restore to another PPC.

You can copy your 'old_ppc_name My Documents' sub-folders to the 'new_ppc_name My Documents' folder after you first sync Files.
That helps some.

Also you can sync all your PIM data and when you sync your new device it will copy over. But you will have to reinstall all your programs and stuff.
