Many of the most popular wifi sniffers will only display acces points (AP) that are broadcasting their SSID. Most AP's with recent firmwares will give users the option of turning off the broadcasting of its SSID, when this happens this makes it invisibile to the sniffer. Are there any sniffers that can put a wifi card into monitor mode? In monitor mode, this enables a wireless nic to capture packets without associating with an access point or ad-hoc network. This is desireable in that you can choose to "monitor" a specific channel, and you need never transmit any packets. I know that kismet has this ability, but I haven't found a program that will allow this to happen on the Windows Mobile side.[/img]
