I saw an HP Ipaq 2115 at my local electronics store. I wanted to read a few reviews about it prior to purchasing, but I can't seem to find anything on the internet about it. Does anyone have one of these and if so, have you been pleased with it?

I think you might be looking for the iPAQ h2215. 8)

I'm beginning to think the same thing. The store that I went to had the price at $279. They said it was a discontinued product. Any idea if this is a good price or not and whether or not the product is actually being discontinued from the store or from HP itself?

You must be thinking of the 2215. I have one, and it is an awesome pocket pc. There are upcoming pocket pcs that are more powerful and advanced, but the 2215 is still a good choice, I would say.

The h2215 is not part of HP's newest range of iPAQs but it is in HP's previous generation of iPAQ devices, and you can still find them if you want to. I highly recommend it if you want an affordable solution. The h2215 is feature-packed, and I'm sure you will like it. You may also want to check out some other devices out there though.

Is your price of $279 is US Dollars?

Yep, it was 279 US dollars. Is that a good deal or just kind of an okay deal?

I looked at the rx3115, but it was a bit pricey at $350 to me. I also checked out the rz1715 for $279, but I thought the 2215 was a better deal. Any other ideas? I've been looking at the Dell Axims, but I'm a little leary of getting one without actually playing with it before hand to see how I like it.

US$279 is an okay price, but you can definitely get it cheaper.

The Dell Axim X30 is nice in my opinion. But I understand your desire to see it first before you buy it.

Any idea of a good place to look to get it cheaper? I've checked out Cnets price comparision and everything there looks to be around that price or more expensive.

This site usually posts links to good prices sometimes. Otherwise, you can always try major online sites in the US. I'm not from there, so I'm not that familiar with any that are based over there. A few weeks ago, there were h2215's selling here in Australia at retail stores for A$299-ish, which is a lot cheaper than US$279 if you do the conversions.

Shop around and you'll stumble on a good bargain sooner or later.

Remember that HP is discontuing the current HP iPaq 2215. There are rumours for plans of a new 2XXX series to come out. Be aware that you will be purchasing an "outdated" PDA. Maybe another feasable option is to wait for other devices that will last longer in the PDA world? This could justify the cost increase, but it rather depends on what you intend to use the device for. I have a 2215 now, have had it for a year, and love it.
