The Pocket PC Phone Edition was codenamed HTC Blue Angel during its development, and it was announced by various mobile operators around the world. Apart from some cosmetic differences, and the selection of bundled applications, this device is pretty much the same across these operators. You probably heard of it with other names, like O2 XDA IIs, T-Mobile MDAIII, Vodafone VPA III (Vodafone Personal Assistant, in Germany only). In New Zealand and Australia it'll be released as i-mate PDA2k."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/parekh-20041004-PDA2k.jpg" /><br /><br />Mauricio goes in-depth with the PDA2k, and likes a lot about what he sees. Check it out, especially for details on how the unit handles intelligent switching between GPRS and WiFi modes. 8)

just fyi, the product was launched here in Dubai this week during Gitex and has started selling at various retailers for Dhs. 3,250, which is about $880. Pretty good upgrade for those who didnt jump on the imate2 bandwagon but are tired of their old qteks and such.

keep an eye out for an upcoming imate called the "jam", which will be miniscule in size, whilst still offering a 400mhz proc. running ppc2k3 and a megapixel camera. more details can be found at Mohd's great site, www.pocketpcdubai.com

i'll try and get a hands on review out to you guys as soon as they give me some time off the palmOne booth..
