The DP900 PDA specs include: GSM 900/1800/1900MHz GPRS Class 10, 300MHz CPU, 64Mb Rom, 64Mb RAM, 3 inch 240 x 320 resolution, SD/MMC slot (SDIO), 262K colour TFT screen, 1100 mAh Battery, Rotatable CMOS Camera VGA type(180°). It weighs 150g and apart from the swivel camera, it's other party trick is the ability to charge the onboard battery from another battery without switching the unit off. Could come in handy of you are in the middle of a (long) important call I suppose. You can find the full brochure at the<a href="http://www.dallab.com/DP900_files/DP900Brochure.pdf"> Dallab website</a>.

Let me be the first one to say. YAWN. Lame speed, lame memory, lame speed. Other than that is looks ordinary, in every other aspect. NEXT!!! Show me 600MHz, 128 MB and VGA and you got something that will be interesting.

The only thing relatively new here is the 262K screen.

150 grams = 5.3zoz... I might be wrong on this, but this is the lightest all in one to date. That is... if it is available now.

This is lighter than my iPaq rx3700!

Bill,

How do you know its thick? If you have the dimension, could you post it? I could find no dimensions for the unit. Do you know what they are?

The weight is very light!

HOwdy,
I think the ability to change the battery while it is in use is important. That is a feature I could use in my current cell phone and future ppc purchase. I use mine for grad school and for work, so it would come in handy. It may not just be about long conversations, but also about many conversations (calls) during the day. My car charger recently went out a few days ago, and I still have not replaced it, but my cell phone has gone dead twice since then. The nice feature of replacing the battery while still on a call would be great for me.

It has a 3" display making this quite a small unit. It would be much smaller than the traditional 3.5" found in devices like the 19xx iPaq and only slightly larger than the 2.8" that will be in the svelte MPx.

It would also be good for long downloads.

It's interesting that they make mostly bluetooth products but there is no mention of bluetooth with this deivce, or did I miss that on the specs?

This would be a great small unit if they add bluetooth to it as the ipaq 6300 is too large to be pocketable.

I don't, just observing from the pic that it looks kind of thick, don't you think? It's hard to tell unless it's in someone's hand.

Yes... it does look thick. But, I think that might be because it could also be small. I would like to hear more about this unit!

I agree, I want to see it too. Also, with the 3" screen, I am willing to bet that the thickness is no more than other typical PPC on the market today. It's WxH dimmensions are just smaller and proportionately, just looks clunkier when it probably feels very nice in the hand. I am of course, just speculating. What we need to see is it modeled in ones hand and better yet, up against some more well known devices for comparison.

Hi...

After almost 3 months i've been using Dallab DP900.. what can i say.. it's really good.. help me so much.. either make call, sms.. data storage.. music.. movie.. on line surfing using GPRS... Game Programming, Playing Games.. next..next. and next..

no need for me to tell u guy about the Full Specification coz most of u know it.. right..?

but.. why i choose Dallab DP900.. even i'm also proud owner of Nokia Communicator 9210, O2 XDA and O2 Xphone.. but frankly, i like this Dallab most.. why?

NO. 1 : Dallab DP900 give me full Multimedia Experience (Such as : all the way from my house to office will take me around 1 hour 30 minutes, so with Dallab in my hand.. i can listen to my favourite Song that i convert to real player format, wathing Video Music and play around with my ringtones..) and of course to do all this thing u need at least 128MB MMC/SD...

NO. 2 : I can take still picture or Video recording using the Dallab DP900 Rotary 180 degree... it really nice camera function.. why? coz by using this Rotary 180 degree camera.. and Large Screen Viewfinder.. it's really easy for u to snap any photo on the way... snap it, record it.. and save it into your MMC/SD

NO.3 : Make call / receive call was so.. soo.. easy.. just press the green button (with phone picture on the left side).. and walllaaa... reception of course depending on your Telco.. for me in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.. i never experience any drop signal with my Dallab DP900.. even i bring my DP900 to my Village area which very far from Kuala Lumpur and most of the normal phone cant get the full line reception.. but with DP900...wow...!!! that's good.. trust me..

NO.4 : Playing around with music, games, notes that i record, some minor programming, a lot of send / receive SMS and of course a lot of incoming call by using this DP900.. and of course.. a lot of people will ask the same question.. how about battery life? make it short.. the battery life was sooo good.. i can even talk 2 hours non-stop with my girlfriend, and after that check, reply SMS, email, and continue playing my games, so.. all this will take around 6 hours.. stardard talk time will be more than 3 hours.. evarage.. it will take u up to 1 full day if u just play around with normal PDA fucntion...

ok.. what will happened if my battery run out when i still in the middle of tele-conversation with other party? no problem at all.. just make sure u have 2nd battery.. and u can always do Online Battery Change even u're in the middle of tele-conversation.. to me.. well.. this is really good function.. no need for me to tell other party to cut off the line coz u want to change the battery.. wit DP900.. no one will know when yur battery will run out and u can talk to other party for hour and hour with this Online Battery Change.. latest Technology in PDA Phone World..

ok guy.. i will continue my review on this unit..

if any body out there have problem with your DAllab DP900.. please do not hesitate to PM me...ok
