Want to see what the new Dell x50v can really do with its Intel 2700g chip? A game called "Solterra" is designed for use on a Pocket PC, but the demo can be played on the PC. Here's what they had to say:
"Why would we release the PC version of a game built for Pocket PC? One reason is that the game is fun! The small size lets older computers run the game. It’s easy to boot up and play during downtime. It also gives you an idea of what the graphics capabilities are of the new 2700G."
It runs in VGA portrait mode, and it looks really nice. I wouldn't say as good as the PSP on any terms, but it definitely blows any other Pocket PC game away graphics-wise. And for the Pocket PC requirements, it only asks for a 400mhz CPU, and get this - 15mb RAM! If a game like this running in VGA mode only needs 15mb of RAM usage, maybe Dell's decision for 64mb isn't such a bad one after all.
