Has anyone tried the new version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, version 2? I installed it, and am having the same problems as with version 1. Maybe I just need to take the original documents and have the ActiveSync filter tag the documents again.

What problems were you having with 1.0?
You know, this version of Acrobat Reader has to be the most unoptimised ever in terms of file size!

Problems with version 1:
Some files can't be tagged at all.
Some files which can be tagged still aren't readable. Most commonly happens with columns.
Can't tag Adobe 6 pdf's.
Problems with version 2:
Nothing gets tagged. May be a problem with my desktop, for all I know.
Can't handle columns any better than version 1 (for pdf's which were previously tagged.)
Crashes half the time when I launch the software.
Crashes all the time when I click on a pdf file.
No option for clear type that I can see.
Runs slower than version 1 and takes up humongous space for no apparent reason.
I'm in the process of uninstalling version 2 and returning to version 1.

With the tagging problems, you need to set the ActiveSync filter to tag documents when you transfer between your device and the PC.
Remember that simply copying documents onto a memory card via a memory card reader attached to your PC does not tag the documents.
The extra file size of Reader 2.0 is due to the extra features implemented in the program, but it's still very big in my opinion and I understand your pain. :(

My rules ARE set to tag. Some documents can't be tagged. After I installed version 2, NOTHING could be tagged. After returning to version 1, tagging functions properly again.

I've always had a heck of a bad time trying to tag or transfer anything from PC to PocketPC. I have Acrobat 6.0 professional... with documents just refusing to tag/reflow properly after Activesync transfer.
In the end, there's absolutely NO reason why I would install a multi-Mb program that has slow load times, slow refresh times, slow page scroll, slow... well everything!!!
If I really need to view a document on PPC I use word and iSiloX to convert to a compatible iSilo format. Anybody with better suggestions, let me know!
The other alternative reader is Repligo but this is rather expensive.

RepliGo may be a little pricey, but depending on your use, it can pay off in the long run. Its very compact file size and feature-rich Pocket PC viewer make it a very nice alternative to Acrobat Reader. Streamlined integration between the PC and Pocket PC make converting documents into the .RGO format very easy. Trial it to see if you like it.

You think $30 is expensive for software that will give you clear, compact access to anything you could print with your PC, on your PPC? I'v even used it to convert pdfs into rgo cutting the file size in half and getting better performance. I assume you didn't pay for Acrobat 6 yourself, or you wouldn't be complaining about $30 for Repligo Writer.
