From the North American standpoint, we don't hear a lot about the unit. I still hope that F/S wakes up and actually sells it here, but I'm not holding my breath. :|

Aaaaggghh, everything rocks... except that graphic benchmark - how bad is that !!!

Its so bad makes me want to get a knife under the gfx cpu, rip it out and replace it a Red Bull alternative.

Remember that it is a VGA device, so the g. chip is loaded 4 times more. Also SPB Benchmark results are not (AFAIK) taking VGA into consideration. If think that 2700g chipset will really k1ck a$$.

I remember somebody mentioned that loox 720 is h4150 size. From this review, it is far bigger than even h2210, let alone h4150. It seems even smallest VGA devices are still too big.

They're almost the same size, cept for the 2215's curves.

Solution: Pocket PC modding. Lets file down those corners, spraypaint it silver, and wash it in hot water until it's shrunk down to size.

wouldn't it be great if we could pick-n-choose parts...

I don't think so, the picture said everything.

No - I've not read a single review that said that.

It's out. German units have been recieved by quite a few people over the past week or so. French units have been available for a while. The first English units go out tomorrow from Clove in the UK.

To quote Homer Simpson: D'oh :!:

Guess we (Finland) are last on the list again... I hope I'll see mine next week then? If not the supply is too low... :(

Would you in the US buy it over the net if it is not ever coming to this side of the Atlantic??? Just curious. I mean, here if I ever want a Dell, or an Asus, or a Loox, or a Tosh, I must buy it that way, but in the US things are different except for the Loox.

I actually called Fujitsu, or F/S, at some toll-free number for something like U.S. tech support, and asked the techie if they were planning on releasing the Pocket Loox's here in the U.S. From his response, it seems that they operate in the U.S. as just Fujitsu (something along the lines of a daughter company, or somesuch), and that Fujitsu makes any decisions about what to release, independently of parent Fujitsu-Seimens.

In short, the actual manufacturer has no say as to where their products are released, except those regions where F/S controls product distribution, directly. So, if you want a Loox, that is made specifically for the U.S. market, folks, pester the U.S. Fujitsu people enough, and MAYBE...well, it was worth a shot, anyway...lol

I have it, and I can confirm: itīs a great piece of hardware. The Loox is really astonishing, itīs a fast and slim device, has a great and brilliant display and reaches a maximum of connectivity. And all that for more than 200 EURs less than the hx4700.

How much did it cost? Do you own the VGA model? Did you purchase it from a retail store or online?
