Hi

Am a newbie to pocket PCs - previously had a handspring - now proud owner of an iPAQ H4350 - and cant resolve how to keep other files - namely Word & Excel files - consistently synced between my PC and my iPaq. Have gone to ActiveSync List - Files - Settings and added the files I want to sync. It worked fine first time, but I've since updated the PC versions of those files, and yet when I run Activesync again it doesn't indicate against "Files" that any need to be synced nor does it actually update the ones on my iPAQ when I run ActiveSync! If I go back and check what's entered in the files list, it still lists all my chosen files - so why doesn't it automatically sync them when they've been updated?

I did read something else about syncing files where it said you must drag the PC versions into your Pocket PC's My Docs folder EVERY time - but please tell me that's not true! Surely there's a way to select files to be synced (as I've done) and ActiveSync then syncs them whenever they've changed?? If not, is there any software that automatically will do this?

Lastly, I note ActiveSync will only sync files to the iPAQ's main memory. Is there a utility that syncs up files when they are stored on your storage card?

Appreciate any help.

Gareth

Gareth, I use SyncBack, available for free from www.webattack.com , along with loads of other great software! It will automatically sync your files if you set a sync time, or you can manually use it each time you want to update your sync'd files. It won't sync the file if it's in use at the time, however. I haven't found anything better yet. Let me know if you do! :D

You can also try MightySync. go to http://www.mydocsunlimited.com
I use it and have no problems.

Thanks for replies. From looking at both, looks to me like MightySync is the ideal solution as it will do what I want and is specifically designed for syncing a Pocket PC with desktop PC, whereas Syncback looks like it's a more general app for syncing. Am trialling MightySync now and it seems to be the solution.

Thanks
