I like both the phone and the Pocket PC format, but I don't see the point in the Portable Media centers. They are nice and all, but if the PMC ran WinCE of some flavor and added, Word, Excel, a pim and the like it would be a KILLER laptop/handtop replacement. I just saw (not a MS PMC) a Archos Media player with a CF slot and thought man this would be a perfect PDA if I was able use PIM apps and Word Processing and the like.

I cant believe they interviewed the product manager of Windows Mobile and didnt ask him when they are fixing the alarms! Mature product indeed!!

And what of the horrors of connection manager, or the very very immature implementation of the microsoft bluetooth stack (which is mileeessss behind the mature widdcomm stack).

As usual I wonder whether these people actually use the products they sell...

Good read. However I wish someone would pin MS down on Activestink. Why the heck are we still on version 3 of that software? Activestink is seriously lacking in both features, security (What options do you really have in the enterprise environment? Think group policies.), and to a certain extent stability.

Why are they ignoring one of the biggest issues on the platform? You can have the world's greatest PDA but if the sync software sucks what's the point? :?

I have to say that this interview was pretty usesless. No new information. Not even any decent hints to spark rumours. Except "12 new smartphones" :roll:

Boy, that picture reminded me just how similar all the PPC's look! I'm anxious to see some hardware design innovations now that Microsofts tight design retrictions have been (slightly) lifted, like the Moto MPX300!

EDIT--oops, there's the Moto in his hand. Now that's more like it!
