<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.mohairsofa.com/Default.aspx/document/10' target='_blank'>http://www.mohairsofa.com/Default.aspx/document/10</a><br /><br /></div>I know, I know...You're thinking, "All we need is another Today screen add-in." Normally, I might agree with you, but <a href="http://www.mohairsofa.com/Default.aspx/document/10">Calendar+ from Mohairsofa</a> (you've gotta love that name) adds some features we've all wished we had at one time or another.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/calendar+.jpg" /> <br /><br /><i>"Calendar Plus is a program that runs under the Pocket PC's Today screen. It emulates the standard Pocket PC Calendar plug-in exactly, except that it offers more features. Features include the ability to see multiple days, the ability to look a given number of appointments ahead, and multiple ways of displaying the various calendar fields."</i><br /><br />Beside expanding the Calendar content that's displayed, one of the neatest features of Calendar+ the addition of tap and hold menus that let you manipulate appointments right from the Today screen. To see some more screen shots of how Calendar+ works, take a look at the <a href="http://www.mohairsofa.com/Default.aspx/document/10">Mohairsofa site</a>.<br /><br />And guess what? This great little application is absolutely <b>FREE</b>! So why not download it and give it a try. And if you like it, make sure you drop the developers a line and let them know.

Calendar+ isn't really a new plugin... I used it before, but have fallen more in love with tAgenda resently. Calendar+ takes up to much space on the Today-screen for me.
Currently I use Phone Profiles, BatMemTime, GPRS Monitor, IP Dashboard and tAgenda on my Today Screen.

This is fantastic!!
I have been looking for ages for a Today plug-in that would allow me to display a number of appointments not a number of days!
Some times I have 5-6 appointments in a day sometimes only 0 or 1. What I wanted was a way of telling where I am supposed to be and where I am suppoed to go next...
And by setting it to display the next 2 appointments I can finally do this without filling up my whole today screen with my next 6 appointments!
Thanks for pointing this out!

This is certainly not a new plug-in - but it is hardly discussed in web sites, so I'm glad it finally has been given some publicity here.
I have been using this excellent plug-in for years now. It has been regularly enhanced, and the latest version adds even more flexibility to displaying the information (even on the newest VGA displays).
This and the Task Plus add-in are the 2 MUST HAVE add-ins that I actually USE day in and day out.
SUPER SOFTWARE!!!!

Nice...however I am already using Pocket Breeze which atleast can change the font sizes and save more space. Looking at the screenshot there isn't much space left for me to use BatteryPack Pro and JournalBar.

You can change the font size, both of the Date/Title bit and the appointments independantly...

That's exactly what we were thinking when we came across this. It's surprising that it hasn't gotten much publicity, especially since it is listed on sites like Handango and PocketGear.
It's good to hear from somebody who has used it for awhile.

That's good to know, because I already have SOOOOOO much stuff already crammed onto my Today screen.
Maybe that needs to be our next poll: How many separate items are listed on your Today screen?

I'm a tAgenda guy myself. Used it for years now and it too is free. That's all I have on my today screen from top to bottom. I have tried this program also, tAgenda just met my needs and was (still is?) more expandable.

I've been using ScaryBear's QuickAgenda for a long time. Though it can't be set to display a certain number of appointments, you can set the number of lines it will display. If you have more appointments than can be displayed in the number of lines you set, it adds a scroll bar. It also collapses so it doesn't clutter the screen when I don't need it. Best of all, it integrates with Pocket Informant.

I've been using this for 2+ years. I absolutly hated the fact that today only showed you your next appointment. And I'm too cheap to buy an app that has extra features.
Another good one that is along the same lines and this is TaskPlus. (http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/taskplus.shtml) Most of the people I work with are not very technical and were required to use PPC's. They pretty much hated them until I installed both these plug-in's. 8) Now they can't live without them.
how do you change font color? Just installed the Calender+ and my Today screen text is white and doesn't show up on the background .jpg I use. Didn't see an option in Cal+ or in the Today options to change font color, but I must have missed it.

It's there somewhere in the set up. I know it. Can't find it online for you though. I'd look at my PPC but I left it at home.

I absolutely hated the fact that today only showed you your next appointment.
You can actually display all of your appointments for the day by going to Start>Settings>Today>Calendar>Options and selecting "Display...Upcoming appointments."
That still doesn't provide as much flexibility as the add-ins we're talking about, but it may be enough for some people (like me).

Well, actually this was something I looked for some time. Nice to get it presented right under my nose when checking PPCT today. :)
As my Today-Screen gets more and more crowded by some neat and usefull plug-ins it is quite a reliefe to tell the calender (which was the most unpredictable space-eater) how much of information I want to see - and change its font-size! :D
Only problem I have now is that awful bar right next to an appointment telling you wether you are marked as free, tentative or busy. Surprinsingly this only happens on some appointments whilst others do not have that bar?!
Oh, and TaskPlus seems quite a worth having a look at. Probably this might come in handy when working on your tasks - as we know by some other thread here this is quite a bit of a problem for some people wandering around this forums. ;)

I used Calendar+ in the past until I found PocketBreeze (http://www.sbsh.net). 8)
PocketBreeze gives you almost unlimited amount of options and shows both appointments and tasks on the same Today real-estate using 'tab-based' design, and you can also add your contacts on your Today screen with ContactBreeze who adds an additional tab.
It also include many great skins that can be downloaded for free, most of them designed by Juni, and the best support ever seen on their support forums!
I really don't think that anyone can compare both products - I advice all to try PocketBreeze, you won't be able to stop using it.

It's hard to compare the two. One is freeware while the other is not. Sure, with PocketBreeze, you get a host of other options and features that Calendar+ lacks, but ultimately, you pay for what you get. Calendar+ is a nice alternative for those who want a free alternative to Microsoft's lamentable default calendar plugin.
I still use Calendar+ and have been for a while now, and love what it delivers. It'd be nice to see if there is integration with Pocket Informant and Agenda Fusion in the near future.

Okay, I just updated to Version 2.20 and am experiencing some rather odd errors.
When i tap on an appointment on the today screen, I get this error:
POP-UP 1: The specified module could not be found.
Then sometimes I get the following messages:
POP-UP 2: Fatal. (0xc003) terminated abnormally by an exception at 0:27:51AM (obviously, this time is variable). Closing program.
POP-UP 3: An unhandled error has occurred in the shell. Attempting to restart the shell.
Then it restarts my Pocket PC.
This only happened when I updated to Calendar+ 2.2
Your thoughts? :?

It is compatible with Pocket Informant 5.2.0, I'm using Calendar+ version 2.2.0.40919.
Someone asked about how to chance Calendar+ colors?
The Calendar+ today plugin text will inherit the current font color on your selected theme, in other words, if the rest of the today screen has white fonts, Calendar+ will have white fonts... However, you can control the layout and font style (normal or bold).
My 2 cents... :D

I'm still in the process of flipping through my collection of backup DVDs for the old Calendar+, and haven't found it yet.
But I emailed their tech support about two-three days ago, so hopefully I'll here from them soon. :D

Okay...thought I'd post a quick update on the situation just in case some of you may be experiencing a similar problem.
The problem that I had was that Calendar+ was still "searching" for leftover files I had from a past Pocket Informant installation.
What you need to do is to navigate to the \Windows\ folder either through ActiveSync on the PC, or through File Explorer on the Pocket PC with "View All Files" enabled, and then search for a file called PITools.dll and/or pinewedit.dll and then delete them.
These random error messages should now stop...well they did for me anyway.
