Best Buy has a great price on the iPAQ 4705 -- it's being listed for $499, minus a $25 rebate for $474. 8O

The link doesn't work for me and I couldn't find 4705 when I tried to search for it. I did find a 3715 for 499 though, and a $25 dollar rebate incidently. :) They messed up.

Thats what I get for listening to store employees in thier PDA dept. They said they won't be carrying it and that was last Thursday. Oh well the price must wrong and they most likely won't honor it. I did get mine ordered at www.pcconnection.com and they still have stock. Mine will be here tomorrow.

Was either a typo on BB's part or a mis-read on your part... it's the 3715 for $474 (499-25).

No, it was really showing the 4705. Obviously a mistake on their part, but it was up all last night and this morning.

I called the sales rep. He checked all local B&M stores, none available but the 25% sale will go until the end of this week. The price is totally ligit. Just open an account and put this in the wishlist. You will be notified as soon as it becomes available..Hopefully this week...

I called this morning too. No backorder, but the price is correct, not a typo or system mistake.

The rx3715 price is correct too, with $25 off.

Crazy guy rant here, but before you drop a ton of money into Best Buy's pockets, consider reading about my recent experience trying to use my extended waranty on a Toshiba Laptop. It took them ~3 months to get it back to me in a working state after denying the problem for the 1st 2.

When something is already sold out, it makes no difference what price they gave it. When the new shipment comes in they can make it any price they determine. So if they have none is stock, this ad is no more than a ploy.

I did put it on my email wish list with Best Buy and if they still have the same offer, I will certainly consider it! No one will come close to this, not even the Toshiba 805 is going for that low a price unless it is reconditioned.

It's weird that best buy is getting back into ppc's. I was told a few weeks ago that they were getting out of the pda market and getting into the portable media market....aka portable media centers.

Just called my Best Buy to see if they could maybe order one at the store so I could pick it up (I have a Best Buy giftcard I need to use, and I can't use it online :(), but they said they'll never sell the hx4705 in-store, it will only be available online. :( That's still a great price even without the giftcard, so I may still try to order it through BestBuy.com.

Reminds me of a story:

Customer: How much are your bananas?
Clerk: $0.99 per pound.
Customer: $0.99 per pound?!? The guy down the street has them for $0.50 per pound!
Clerk: Well go buy them there.
Customer: I can't, he's all out.
Clerk: I tell you what, when I don't have any bananas, I'll sell them to you for $0.25 per pound.

:?

I try not to buy anything of substance there. Little things here and there, like DVDs, CDs, blank media, printer inks, etc. I bought my iPaq there, but didn't get the xtra warranty. Good thing too since they don't really carry them much anymore.

I'm not surprised. :| I'd sign up with HP for their extended warranty first, if any.

So why does Best Buy keep the offer on their website unless they intend on getting more in stock and selling them at that price? Maybe they want to taunt us?! Or, they will honor that price when more 4700's come in stock!
I'd be curious to know if ANYONE got the 4700 at that price! :|

Well Best Buy seems to have killed the product page. They also wiped it off my "Wish List". Interesting move.
