The movement is smooth, and precise. To jump to a specific surname, simply click the Jump icon on the right side and select the letter from a table that will be shown on the screen. If you happen to be using both hands, just start writing the contact's name and the list will be filtered. Quite frankly the most pointless program. It takes forever to load. Its slow. And frankly I can operate (view) contacts with my thumb also.

Plus US$30 for this! 8O

Haven't tried this, but it seems to provide a number of features that go beyond what I need to do when I am one-handed. Typically thumbing for me is just to get to the record to look it up, not add entries, schedule appointments. If you think similarly, you should take a look at Contact Breeze, an add-in to pocket breeze. It might not be immediatly apparent, but there is a search mode that gives you half the screen for letter entry, and a marvelous search algorithm. And it will dial from a phone edition.

Howdy!
Wow, $29.99? That is way to much money for that program, and in my opinion that is way to much money for most programs. I am certainly not going to purchase that software.
I decided an extra stylus would make things easier, just have an extra one in the car and it is easier than using my thumb. Of course there are always going to be times that using my thumb may be "quicker" or "easier", but for the most part the stylus is used.

I have been using a program called PhonePlus for onehanded typing/dialing. It is very good, it uses intuative typing, bit like when writing sms messages on a phone. You can bring up the name then select either the home, work or mobile number. The only short comming is that once you have dialed a number eg mobile you have put in the name again to select a different number eg home. They fix this up and get some decent skins it will be a must for PE PPC.
