While in the process of doing something really stupid, and way faster than I should have, I managed to delete a folder of e-mail I was saving.

Not only that, I also managed to empty the trash, which in turn, deleted the folder and all the messages I was saving!!

I am using Netscape as my default web browser, and also use the built-in mail progam as my e-mail client.

I am wondering if any of you experts out there, have any idea, if there is a way to go back in somehow, and retrieve the "deleted" messages?

I have done several Google searches, and have seen all sorts of tricks to accomplish this if I was using Outlook, but nothing for Netscape.

Anybody have any ideas or suggestions??

Thanks,

Jerry

POP or IMAP server?

If POP, and you haven't set it to leave mail on server, you are out of luck.

If IMAP you may be able to retrieve it from your deleted items folder if you haven't purged it completely...if your email provider has a web interface I would try to access your mail using that and see what you can find.

It's a POP server, and of course, it was set to go ahead and delete the mail after it was retrieved.

After all, who in the world would ever want to keep any messages that were not on thier own hard drive, right!!!

Not ME, NEVER!!!!!!!

Oh well, I was just hoping there might be a secret that I did not know about.

I hate when I know the answer before I ever ask the question, especially when I know the answer is not what I want to hear!!

Thanks,

Jerry

Sorry about that....a last ditch effort would be to contact your email provider and see if they kept any local copies...

Sorry, but this is completely and TOTALLY off topic, but...

I love the avatar, js415. I sorely miss The Norm (http://www.thenorm.com), I hope the attempts to resurrect it online work.
