View Full Version : Cannot ping wireless router
I am using vxutil to ping my wireless router with no luck. Say's connected and green. Dissabled WEP & Firewall seperately for test but still the same. I also noticed in vxutils info wireless section does not have the router gateway IP listed?
any help, thanks

Doesn't mean much. connected and green means the radios are talking, doesn't mean any IP is happenning.

How about an IP that is consistant with your network? and a subnet mask? If the LAN side of the router is 192.168.1.1 then the PPC better be in the 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.255 range. Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and gateway 192.168.1.1. Gateway wouldn't be a problem until you tried to go outside your network though.
Is the router set to provide addresses? (DHCP) Do you have MAC filtering turned on?
You might want to get vxIPconfig too, as it has an easy Release and Renew, for DHCP addresses.
Changed the IP on the router  thanks for the info
