Has anyone else noticed their Activesync connection over bluetooth 'dropping' during transmission of files? I'm not even talking particularly big files -- just a bunch of themes that were installed by an app I'm testing. Seems like after about 30 seconds during the 'file synchronization' of Activesync, one of them gives up and drops the connection.

I noticed this also when I was trying to get Sprite Backup to backup files to the PC. On larger files (like Textmaker), the connection would drop and Sprite Backup would get all confused.

It seems like there's some sort of timeout thingee within Activesync which drops the connection if a certain amount of time has gone by with no back and forth from the PC to the Pocket PC. I suspect the Pocket PC, as it 'dings' first, but I can't be sure.

I'm running an iPAQ 2210 with ROM 1.10 which I believe includes all the bluetooth updates. Activesync is 3.7.1, on a laptop running XP SP2 and a Belkin F8T001 USB bluetooth adapter.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I have no problems with my Bluetooth connection. May I ask...you have your Belkin BT adapter installed on Windows XP SP2 - are you using the native Windows BT drivers, or the Belkin drivers?

8) Can you use Internet pass-through on that connection? I was unable to with XP SP2 and a F8T001.

Don't know... I haven't been able to figure out how to reconfigure the laptop to provide the service. SP2 changed the entire bluetooth interface.

I think what ctmagnus is talking about is the Internet Pass-Through mechanism implemented in ActiveSync. Can you get that working?

Yes, I understand about the Internet Pass Through on the PPC end. My problem is at the laptop end, under SP2. None of the 'file transfer' or 'pass through' services are showing up using the native SP2 drivers. All I get is Serial type services.

I have an email out to Belkin asking if I should reinstall the Belkin drivers, or if there is an update to their software.

That's what I found as well, and why I reverted to SP1. I keep checking the Belkin site but there has been no mention of any SP2 updates for this dongle. I really, really need pass-through.
