WMA "editing"? (want to make ring tones from music)

Hi all.
Since the PPCPE can use WMA files for its ring tones, I'd like to be able to "edit" some of my music files to cut desirable portions out and use them for the rings.

Is there a way to do this using any freeware or shareware?

You can give Windows Media Encoder a go. Alternatively, many audio and/or video editing applications out there do the same thing, provided that they save to WMA format.

A short time back I used Windows Movie Maker, you know, the one that comes "free" with Windows XP to do exactly what you're trying to do. It worked pretty well actually, although I was using MP3 audio as my source and converting it to WMA.
