How do I transfer Palm Desktop to Outlook 2003?

My Clie TH55 went bad on me. As a result, I will make the jump to Pocket PC 2003. Can someone plz, tell me how do I transefer my data from my Palm Desktop 4.1 to Outlook?

It is easy. Just re-install palm desktop and tell it you want to sync with outlook. It will move all your data over to outlook, uninstall palm desktop, and sync up your PPC.

Um - that's not going to work. The data doesn't transfer to Outlook automatically from the Palm Desktop. Reinstalling from the CD and choosing Outlook sync will install Intellisync Lite (I think that's what ships with the Clie line), which allows you to sync with OL. But to actually get the data into OL, you have to sync the PDA, which actually transfers the data from the PDA to OL.

There is a program out there that you can buy that will transfer the data directly from the Palm Desktop. I've seen it discussed on this forum. You may want to do a search for it.

I used Chapura PocketMirror (http://www.chapura.com/pm_professional.php). It came with my Palm on the CD. It allowed me to sync my Palm with Outlook. From there it was an easy jump... :wink:

Not sure if it came bundled with your device though. make sure you take a good look at the CD that came with your device (if it did come with one) If I remember correctly, the program was buried (hard to find) on the CD somewhere...

HotSync to Palm Desktop, uninstall Palm Desktop, reinstall with conduit to Outlook, press HotSync and your data will be in Outlook.

That was what I did when I first came from PalmOS. Now I use Outlook for both PalmOS and PPC.

That's what I was afraid of - if you can't hotsync, you can't get it out of the Palm Desktop. As I recall, the program was also from Chapura (the Pocket Mirror folks) and there was a posting here a few months ago about the program.
