mobipocket and file ext quest

what files can mobipocket read? I downloaded some zip files of ebooks that contain the txt. as well at .jpg covers of the books. I am using mobireader. It recognizes the books but I cant figure out how to create a library with my books. The only books that show up in my library is the book that came with the reader. I must go to open and search for the book. Can someone help?

mobipocket will only display PRC files in the "library". that's it's native format.
it will read PDB (palm doc) and TXT files as well, but display them in the eDoc "library".
i think the reason for this is that TXT and PDB do not have book information stored in some kind of variable.

this leads me to a question: i have purchased a book from memoware/pdabookstore/fictionwise (they're all the same company, i think, with different layouts :)) and the filename was CATSANDMOUSE4.prc.
and it shows up as cats and mouse in my mobipocket library. but i like to see "patterson, james - alex cross 04 - cats and mouse" in my library.
any way to change this information in the book i bought ?
