View Full Version : How do you set a pic as your background on your Pocket PC?
I have a H6315 and have been taking pictures and wanted to set one as my background, but I'm having some issues. I've been going into the Settings, then Today, and check the box on use a picture, and browse and find it. Two problems...one it looks washed out like a watermark, because it's placed on top of the existing theme. and 2 the alignment of the photo is wrong. For example, I took a vertical shot, and it's placed horizontal or vice versa. How can fix this? Thank you!!

I would use MS's Theme Generator (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/powertoys.mspx) to play with the image and your Today theme so it works.
The image is washed out because the contrast has been adjusted to supposedly make text more legible on the Today screen, AFAIK.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for your help! I'm going to try it out this afternoon. :)

Keep in mind that folks have trouble with the theme generator loading their theme onto WM2003 devices. At the end if you just save the theme on your desktop, then copy that .tsk to your PPC using AS (or whatever) you'll be fine. It can go into the My Documents or Windows folders.

To correct the lightness of the picture, use the built in "picture viewer" to open the picture you want to use as a background. Then go to the tools menu and select "set as today wallpaper". You will notice that the transparency is set at 66% by default -- lower it to 0 and press OK to eliminate the lightness problem.

I would suggest this as well. It works really well and it is free. You just have to transfer the .tsk to your Pocket PC by yourself, as Sven mentioned.

i am pretty tired of all the .tsk theme that i have and can't seem to find more on the net, so was thinking of making my own theme.
