Hi, I've bought I-mate 2020 Pocket PC GSM/GPRS a couple of days ago and updated the firware...
I've bought TECOM class1 BT bluetoothdongle.
I wonder why is there no LAN (PPP) profile for build-in bluetooth?
It means that I'm unable to interact with my Home/Office LAN an gain access to internet via my Home/Office PC ?..

Is it actually possible to make a LAN (Workgroups) between PPC to PC via bluetooth?

Best Regards

levent, check our Bluetooth Guides (http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=449) for some information on how to do some Bluetooth stuff with your Pocket PC.

The Bluetooth stack on the i-mate does not support neither the LAP (LAN Access via PPP) or PAN (Personal Area Network) profiles. However, you can establish an ActiveSync connection via Bluetooth and browse the Internet from there. It'll not be as quick because of AcitveSync using the bandwidth as well, and you won't be able to access shared folders, etc.

Currently you have to look for Widcomm based stacks to be able to use PAN or LAP. These are on HP iPAQ and Dell Axim models.

Can I download LAP (LAN Access via PPP) or PAN (Personal Area Network) profiles?
