Like the TomTom system for Palm, the Dell's program shows a colorful map, and your movement on it. You can either view things in two dimensions, looking straight down at the map, or three dimensions, a true bird's eye view. It calls out upcoming turns in a woman's voice through the Pocket PC's built-in speaker — she has a nice Irish lilt — and can calculate routes taking into consideration detours or stopovers you'd like to make."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/photo_dell_gps.jpg" /><br /><br />The Time magazine review is brief, but does seem to cover most areas. The Dell GPS Navigation system does seem to cover all bases and offer decent value at $224. Anyone tried one of these yet? How does it compare to the other Bluetooth GPS kits out there?

Not a bad price, but I would prefer Mapopolis or Routis over Tom-Tom navigator. I think you could put together a package using one of those apps and a Bluetooth GPS for around that price.

The Dell BT GPS comes with Routis, not TomTom.

I just glanced at it and thought it was TomTom. In that case, it sounds like a good deal if you have a PDA with BlueTooth.

The hardware would work. Routis normally comes with both a PC version and a PPC version. If they provide both, you could use it with either.
