Hello
I have a iPAQ 5550, and a laptop with Netgear wireless adapter.
I have set them up to work in Ad-Hoc mode without security. All works fine.
Then I set WEP on in both the laptop and PDA. I am pretty sure it did work.
Then I installed the WPA update on the PDA. Both the firmware and the software upgrade.
Now, the Ad-Hoc mode works without security, but I cannot get it working with WEP. I am using the same key on both hardware. I have turned on WEP on both hardware. I have tried soft resetting the iPAQ. I have tried removing the battery on the iPAQ, which used to fix the intermittent problem where the Fireless did not work.
Anyone have any idea what this is?
Anyone seen this behaviour before?
I understand that WEP should work in Ad-Hoc mode, correct?
I understand that WPA should NOT work in Ad-Hoc mode, correct?
On a side note, can you initiate an ad-hoc wireless network from a PDA? for example, set one up on PDA 1, and then connect to that ad-hoc network from PDA 2.
Thanks
David
