The upcoming and new Motorola Mpx has support for both Bluetooth and WiFi (802.11b). But does anyone know if you are able to use both these technologies at the same time (i.e. for instance using a BT-headseat and surfing on the web via WiFi)???
I read a review of the new HP Ipaq h6315 that also supports both BT and WiFi and in that review they were supprised that HP had succeded in getting these two wireless technologies to work in parallell with eachother. Therefore... does anyone know if this also is the case with the new Mpx??

I think Bluetooth version 1.2 was supposed to help Bluetooth and WiFi to run better together. I'm not sure if the MPx is 1.2 or not, but I think it probably is, an if so you should be able to use them both simultaneously.

That is though strange... In the review of the h6315 (http://pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=reviews&id=440&p=3) made by Derek Snyder at the pocketnow.com he states that the h6315 works simontaniously with a BT headset and surfing on WiFi... And the Ipaq h6315 (http://hpshopping.speedera.net/www.shopping.hp.com/shopping/data_sheet/fa239a.html) does though only have Bluetooth version 1.1... ??

BT 1.1 certainly can coexist with WiFi. They might interfere a little bit, i.e., reduce range, but it shouldn't be substantial as BT uses frequency hopping to stay "out of the way", and certainly both are robust enough to resist any data corruption. My year-old Portege 3505 Tablet PC has both, although the BT utility "warns" of "reduced performance" if it detects both on simultaneously. Anyway, I believe 1.2 improves coexistence.
As for whether or not the MPx will support it, my guess is yes from the reports I've read, but it's more of a software and battery-life issue than anything else. Since a final MPx hasn't been released, it's speculation -- but I'd assume their goals are similar to the 6315's.
