new to the forum - advice needed please

hi guys

new to the forum and even more confused now that i have read the posts!!

obviously people have personal preferences for certain makes and models but i have tried to read each review with an open mind

im not looking to spend the earth on a pda so i have set a limit of around £200. this has left me looking at 2 devices in particular.... the ipaq 2210 (2215 too i believe?) vs the asus 620bt

as far as i can see the asus has a superior handling of graphics but suffers from a limited amount of software and only has a CF slot.... but what do you guys think?

also ive read about premium and professional versions of 2003 but im not sure which handheld has which

any advice would be greatly appreciated

I'm not that familiar with the Asus model but by reputation, their pda's are good quality value for money. The IPAQ 2215 is also a solid machine. I don't know what criteria you're trying to base your decision upon - but I don't think you would go wrong either way.

Graphics isn't really that much of a problem unless you plan to play graphics intensive games or watch movies on your device - which isn't really practical in the long run! Both of these also require investments in storage cards (large ones for movies) and games - which cost a lot more moolah than you may be willing to pay.

Lastly, as the ASUS and IPAQ are both basically PocketPC devices, I wouldn't say that one suffers from a limited amount of software. Pre-packaged (and often shareware) included with the device - perhaps... otherwise anything that will run on one device can be purchased and run on the other.

you have to be more specific. what are you planning to do with your pda? if you are planning mostly playing games, then you should go with asus. but otherwise i recommend you 2215 because it has dual slots and much smaller than asus. both are reliable devices so you wont be disappointed eighter way but again i recommend you 2215. i use this device for about 9 mounts and so far i am very pleased with my fancy pda
