Mozilla configuration file...where is it???

I've been trying to make edit operations while writing down a post in another forum site. When I try to do so, a window pops up saying "unable to perform this operation. You must configure Mozilla configuration file"? but I don't find it anywhere.

Can you lend me a hand on this???

I believe settings are found in multiple files, but you can edit the "config file" by typing about:config in the address bar. You can't really add anything as far as I can tell, but you can modify things that are already there.
