I'm not sure if this means that Germans hate bluetooth, or if the Bluetooth SIG hates Germans. Either way you look at it, Mr. Hasselhoff is a force to be reckoned with in Germany, where he has conquered the Schmaltz Rock charts and opened a chain of restaurants called "Hasselhoff's WaffleHof". Sadly, one of those statements is true.

In other Hasselhoff news, it turns out that the rapper Ice-T is a neighbor of Mr. Hasselhoff, and has apparently convinced him to try his hand at rapping: "He's gonna come out as Hassle the Hoff. The Hoff will surprise people with his rap skills and humour." Do I smell a Bluetooth Rap coming our way from The Hoff...?

Oh, and some guy is selling K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider on eBay, so if you get excited about $40,000 cars with 2 gallon gas tanks, this might just be your lucky day. Happy Friday!

Well, you can't argue with their logic. Germans love David Hasselhoff. karinatwork just must not be German.

Oh yay.

Hasselhoff's Bluetooth Address To the German Peoples:

"Bloo-toose iss goot, yah? Every-vun vill haf zee big Bloo in zehr fones oont Pocket Pay Sayes! Yoo vill all trade in yohr toys for vuns vit Bloo-toose - yoo vill obey NOW or yoo vill all be KRUSHED like zee svine-hoonts zat yoo all are! Yah!"

(I'm mostly German so I can make fun of my own!)

By the way, that "news" about Ice T putting together a rap album for Hasselhoff is a bunch o' bunk. Ice T was on Conan O'Brien one night and laid that rumor to rest.

I would like to state for the record that I am ONLY the source for the KITT car on eBay. And a friend sent me the link, I wasn't spending all day on eBay looking for crazy stuff.

:P ;)

Pat & Kati... really funny...

But he is very popular in Germany... so... how many of the statements are really true??? :?:

Yes, I won the car! I remember watching that show on Sunday nights on NBC before going to bed for school the next day. Damn I feel old now...

Anyway, I read that about Ice-T as well. I can't believe it. But hey, if he is so popular in Europe for singing, why not rap too. North Americans joke about it, but many celebrities still make a good living off marketing themselves in other countries.

*yawn* Yes, this was funny ten years ago. But no, he's not "popular" here.

This is a urban legend perpetuated by American late night shows.

Well, probably he *was* more popular over here than anywhere else. Shame on those who bought his junk.

There still must be some level of Knight Rider enjoyment. I am still seeing lots of TV ads for phone ring tones.

I'm German too and I don't like David Hasselhoff. Does any German still like him?

Germans don't like him anymore. Maybe in the early 1990's, but not anymore.

that was so gay and such a cheap video. It appears to be a complete video for that song. He's in it everywhere singing! Poor souls who bought that music. That's an old song too he's singing, not even his own. Jeeesh! :?

I will always fondly remember Michael Knight. I don't care what any of you (German or not) say! I've never been cool, so I will admit that I like Hasselhoff, and I will continue to do so, unless I hear he's commited some heinous crime or done something else deserving of dislike. As to whether or not I'd have used him to promote Bluetooth...well...technophile that I am, I have nothing that uses BT, so whatever!

Yeah - as Michael Knight he was cool. I'm not convinced about Baywatch and as a singer, though. ;)

But really, KITT was the *coolest* part of the show - let's be honest! :)
