Attention again all HX4700 buyers: Want more readers

I was contacted by Ecost.com (Rome) and he verified with me that they are an authorized dealer of HP products. Ecost.com is taking the appropriate steps to get that retailer HP link to include them as it should.

A couple of things solved:

1) The HX4700 listed on Ecost.com was listed as available in 2-5 days. Rome contacted the purchaser and unfortunately, that information is incorrect. The real date is Late Aug/ Early Sept.

Also, as we already knew, the HX4700 simply carries the business SKU number. There are no differences except for price. This SKU carries a higher price than does the consumer SKU (4705)


2) Good news, the HX4705 was reconfirmed by Rome and the Ecost.com purchaser that it still shows an availble date of
8-18-04.

This is to rectify my misunderstanding, HP's misunderstanding, and stressing out over 100 HP IPAQ enthusiats.

The reason why Rome cancelled my order without disputing my charge that they were not authorized HP resellers is because he did not hear that part of my message. He was just doing what any wonderful salesperson does: If you want to cancel, he will cancel your order. He will not fill your ears with a bunch of nonsense. He is a good person and deserves your business.

So to get the HX4705 with full HP capable warranties from ECOST.com with and expected arrival date of 8-18-04 For 579.00. Call 1-800-555-3613 ext 4903. Talk to Rome. And yes that really is his name. Much cooler than Jason.

ECost just upped the price

I called and they told me they cannot support the JASONDAY price due to the disclaimer that they can change the price at any time.

Just to be sure, I just called them. they will honor what ever price was there at the moment when you bought the device. In my case it was 650 - 50= 600 dollars.

The other good news is that they confirmed me that I should get it 8/18/04 :D

glad I got it when I did. 579 is a nice bargin (i know i'll be laughing at the comment in a matter of months when the price drops). they also confirmed to me that it would be in on 8/18 and ship within a couple days of that :D

Yep - $599.00 is the price you get if you go to ecost.com now. You don't see the new price until you add the 4705 to your cart.

I pre-ordered on 7/20 at $563 - I sure hope that price holds when they come in. :? I also hope they ship out on a first order in/ first out basis :D I have doubts about the 8/18 date, with many other sites saying the Hx4705 will be "available" on 8/26. We'll see.....

Yeah, you have to remember that this special only means something if you talk to Rome. The other people will think you are smoking crack if you ask for the IPAQ for $579.

Come on guys, Lets buy up. I called Rome and he said that only 9 or so sales have been made. I know we can do better than that.
