are there any clients for PPC that allow for
1) mutliple user conference with Yahoo IM

2) file transfer with ICQ, MSN, and YIM

-is so, are they directly connected to the host server or are they jabber clients?

I think IM+ directly connects too, but I guess even on PPC platform messaging clients aren't as full featured as on a desktop

For those wondering, Agile also includes a today plugin for quick access.

I've been scouring forums and the web for a messaging client that doesn't require connection to a server. In other words, if I'm in a meeting or classroom or what have you, with my WiFi capable PocketPC, and I need to IM my buddy who also has a WiFi capable PocketPC, I want to just connect Ad Hoc and initiate (or accept) a chat session. I've seen some Bluetooth solutions, but it seems an insult that there wouldn't be anything similar in the 802.11x arena.

How does it compare to Pocket Messenger?
