Purchasing from Expansys or TEK N'TOY

I have ordered from Expansys UK on a number of occasions (Aluminium case, CF WIFI for 2215, 512MB SD card, T68i, Bluetooth headsets). Delivery has always been prompt and the level of service excellent.

If you search these forums, you should find some references to Tek n Toys.

I ordered an i-mate Pocket PC Phone from Tek n Toys who were advertising merchandise in stock ready for shipment. First problem was the amount billed was higher than the quoted conversion amount of US $ from CAN $. Then I found myself caught in weeks of delays due to customs issues with minimal communication along the way. They charged my credit card immediately, even though they in fact did not have the i-mate in stock.

I finally cancelled my order, and lost some money due to the exchange rate. Luckily the difference was very small - I read posts elsewhere where others were not so fortunate.

I ordered the i-mate from eXpansys and had it in hand immediately. I have since ordered accessories from them and have zero complaints.

In scanning some recent posts here, it doesn't look like Tek n Toys has resolved its reliability gaps. While you might be lucky with them, as others have been, I would still recommend eXpansys.

Expansys are great. I ordered all my phones, PDAs and accessories from them in the last 2.5 years and I never had a problem, even the refunds are processed in a few days.

On the other hand, Tek n Toys are not too good, if the number of complaints on this site and Pocket PC Passion are any indication.
