Hi,
I've been waiting to buy a new pda/phone but am under a 2 year contract with Sprint that I don't want to pay to get out of.

Are any of the upcoming pda/phones going to be on the Sprint network, namely the ipaq 6300?

Why is it that ATT and T Mobile tend to pick up on the new units first?
thanks

AT&T and T-Mobile pick them up first because the new phones are GSM. Sprint, Verizon and Nextel all run on a CDMA network, so the new phones (6300, MPx, P50, etc.) are totally incompatible.

Rumors have been circulating for a while about the possibility of a CDMA i-mate, but I haven't heard anything even remotely concrete.

To my knowledge, the only pda/phone you can get with Sprint is the Treo 600.

So does this mean that everyone except tmobile and att won't get in on the new pda/cell phones that are released? Or will the manufacturers have to build cdma compatible devices?

My problem is do I have to switch carriers to get a newerpda/phone or do I hold out that one might come soon that is on a pocket pc platform...
thanks

Sprint will probably be the first carrier to have the new Treo Ace (or Treo 610) when it is released. Since the current Treo 600 is probably the best PDA phone around at the moment, the new one should be even better.

Sprint don't have any MS Smartphones, although you're not missing much there. They do have the brick like Hitachi G1000, which is a Pocket PC device. People who have this seem to like it and get the benefit of a good workout lugging it around.
