I'm sure this is a popular subject, but I haven't found a clear solution yet... Is there ANY way to remotely control my PC from my Pocket PC? I'm going away this weekend and my laptop hasn't come back yet, so my Pocket PC is all I can bring with me. I'm most likely going to need access to my files on my home PC. GoToMyPC 4.0 looks like exactly what I would need, but I'm really against that subscription thing. Are there any other programs out there that do exactly what that does, or at least very similar? I would really appreciate your help.. Thanks!

If you have WinXP you can turn on remote desktop. Then with your PPC open 'Terminal Service Client' and stick your computer name in. Warning, 240x320 is a pain to run windows on.

To be more precise, you need XP Professional. If you have XP Home, you'll have to investigate other possibilities.
For XP Pro, right-click My Computer => Properties => Remote tab => Allow users to connect remotely to this computer. You'll need to specify at least one username with a password for this to work.
Also, you need to have a public IP to connect to from your Pocket PC. If you have a firewall, you'll need to punch open port 3389/tcp.

Cool, I've got XP Pro. It's turned on and I just made an account for my Pocket PC, but in Terminal Services Client.. what do I put as the Server?

You put the IP address (or the DNS hostname, if you have one) of your desktop box.

Ah, so it's a lot like an FTP. Thanks for the helpful info!
