To avoid the problem of very serious "the oversleep", which can be the cause of accident of train, JR tries on its employees this new alarm clock. I mourn in advance the first poor soul to try this on the bottom bunk of a bunk bed. And I'm sure I'd have no problems getting to sleep with an air compressor next to my ear. But hey, if Japan Rail is serious about this thing, maybe they'd be interested in my "Terrible Sounds of Monkey Being Attacked By Tiger" Alarm Clock. Happy Friday!

I bet the air compressor is really what does the 'waking'.

Depending on how high it lifts, I really doubt that would wake me.

I see more applications for this as a prank device, myself.

Umm . . . when I read the title of this post I pictured something more . . . shall we say "unpleasant." I know it would certainly wake me up. This I'm not so sure about :) .

I must admit, thought, that sometimes I do suffer from the problem of the oversleep.

What seems strange is the size of the compressor. Everything in Japan seems to be tiny because of limited space. This thing is huge. I've seen Coleman high-pressure and low-pressure compressors that are much smaller.

Yeah, I got a tire inflator that is only 10x10x10 cm. Perhaps they use a big compressor to ensure that it works ...

Or maybe they need one that's noisy enough to wake you.
