Is there a program that I can get to password protect certain programs (like my e-mail?)

I'm not sure how to password protect individual programs but as a lost resort you can turn on the system wide password.

Do you have a specific list of programs? If they're not in ROM, you could encrypt the executables, which would probably achieve your objective.
Unfortunately, if you use Inbox, that's in ROM. :-( The only solution might be encrypting or deleting any shortcuts and hiding the files in ROM in any file explorer you use. Of course, that's hardly secure.
The only secure way I can think of is to actually encrypt the E-mail database, but that could be dangerous.

any e-mail program that would do this would be great.....also, maybe certain picture folders...I was looking for a password protection feature for my Tasks list...I thought I found one (with Pocket Informant), but I guess I had an older version of Pocket Informant...I am not sure if the new version has it.

You know, raising this topic makes me ponder. You think in the next release of Windows Mobile, the feature of user accounts and access privileges becomes slipstreamed into the OS - much like how Windows XP handles it.
What a wish!
I'd probably be better off dreaming aboutt it! :p

so there is no way to password protect the ROM at all?

User-accessible Flash ROM, yes. System ROM, not that I know of (other than the system password itself).
As I said, you could delete all of the shortcuts to the program, but a file explorer could run it. You could delete the shortcuts to the file explorers, too, but someone could get the Run prompt and execute them.

which one does the Inbox use?

Well, the program is in ROM, but the databases are in a special location in RAM, I believe.
As I mentioned, there are probably some games you could play with the databases, but they'd be dangerous. If you forgot about the changes and tried to sync with Outlook, it could be bad news.

any idea what folder it might be saved under?

Of course. :-) All system databases are in the \Databases folder. The catch is that you can't view that folder with any normal file explorer, but you can see them using ActiveSync's Explore action.

so would a person be able to use a password program to prevent people from seeing my e-mail? I am just looking for a basic program that would keep people from looking at the Inbox program...but not something where it protects it like Fort Knox or something...
