to those that have used them:

Is Vito Sound Explorer the better/best sound recorder out there??
I have been using it for a while, and also saw Resco had one.
which is the better, or a different one maybe?
I record meetings and seminars often, and may not be able to be right next to the speaker's mouth, or the sound system's speakers. If i am a few feet away (3-15), which should I use.
Thanks
Ryan

I don't know if Vito's sound explorer is the best, but it certainly has come a long way. Try out the trial version. I like that I can finally record MP3 audio to an SD card. Used to not be able to with older version due to speed issues.

AWESOME!!!

I just downloaded and ran this through a test. This is fabulous as is all the Vito Software I am using:

Vito Contact Pro PE (I won a copy of this in a contest)
Vito Sketch Artist

I'm on my way to purchase it right away 'cause I think it beats Microsoft's Voice Command. Pricewise and support.

I don't know how well VITO sound explorer compares to the other recording software. But I have had the software for about year and a half, has yet to fail me. MP3 Recording kicks A$$ I record all my lectures. the only problemI can see is data overload and managing your recorded files. And this puppy can record with the screen off, able to bookmark parts of recording. Those are the features I use the most, and yes they update on a regular basis.

I have tried Resco Sound Explorer and they have a proprietary sound format in addition to MP3 and wav formats. The format seems good, the quality is in between MP3 and wav. Plus the Resco offers a slightly higher bitrate in MP3. The only reason i would consider it now.

I think it's a tie between Reso and VITO IMHO :)

That's what I am trying to decide between them for, the bitrate. I heard that resco was higher.
anyone else use a voice recording software that is good??

A freeware choice:

NoteM - Freeware Wav/Mp3 recorder

NoteM is good if you just want a basic recorder. It'll record Mp3s and you can turn off the screen, but you don't get features from Resco and Vito's products such as voice activated recording, speed control, tag editing, time/MBs left for recording.

However Vito's recorder for $10 is a good deal. I personally like it better than Rescos recorder and at half the price with discount there isn't a comparison.
