I have a Dell Axium and need to connect to my ethernet cable for some testing. Is there an adapter of some type OTHER THAN a CF card that I can use to connect to a Cat5 cable?

Not directly--for adapters, it's CompactFlash or nothing. On the other hand, if you have WiFi in your Axim, then there are 'plug and play' wireless access points that can connect you to a wired network almost as well as an ethernet card. You might consider one of those. Worst case, if you don't have WiFi, there are also infrared equivalents, but it would be VERY slow and a bit expensive.

There are also some bluetooth access points available, if you have a bluetooth pda.
