View Full Version : Software to change size of boxes on Today screen?

I've got three Today screen plug-ins (PocketWeather, Spb PocketPlus, PocketBreeze) but I'd like to resize the boxes they are in. For example, Pocket Plus has a lot of empty space underneath the icons, space I could use for either showing more info in Pocket Breeze or perhaps putting PocketRSS on there. Anyway, is there any software that will do this? TIA!

PS - I tried doing a search but either came up with 11000 items or none :(

Really? I've tweaked it to the point where it's pretty compact on my today screen, with no empty space. I haven't heard of any such third-party tools.

Make sure to use "all words", not "one or more".

Yeah, use less icons, smaller icons, etc. I have mine down to the tabs, and one line of icons.

the programs decide the size of the today plug in so you can limit their space usage.

Well, I figured this out a bit at least. (I'm surprised nobody has asked this before!) I already had reduced spb PP to a single row of icons, but it still had blank space underneath. (I have PP at the bottom of my screen.)

What I ended up doing was to increase the amount of space in Pocket Breeze uses (on the settings tab) to take up the additional space. (I think ALL Today plug ins should have this feature built in!) I still have some extra space under PP but it's not as noticeable now.

Later, I'm going to try reducing PB and putting Pocket RSS in.

OT: Have you purchased PocketRSS yet? if not, give Egress a try. I let both duel it out, and picked Egress. I like the way it displays the info better, and it takes up less on the Today screen, though you don't get the briefs on the today screen like you do with PocketRSS. The benefit to this is more screen real estate for PocketBreeze. ;)

Hi Vidge,

I noticed you said that after resizing PocketBreeze height you still have a few pixels left empty.

Just wanted to let you know that you can also enter any custom height on PocketBreeze height setting, simply by using the Pocket PC keyboard. This way, you can play with the height several times until you find the maximum height that will cover all of your today screen without the OS ugly scroll bar of course ;)
