I have a 2215 that I have been using without an SD card for about a year, now. I saw that I could get a Lexar 256MB high speed card pretty cheap, though, so I bought one. I used to be able to let my 2215 go for weeks without having to recharge it.

But since I inserted the SD card, I have noticed that my battery drain is frightfully fast! In fact, after not charging it all weekend, and leaving the device OFF, the battery drained completely, erasing all of my memory.

Luckily, I used part of my SD card as a backup just last week.

I do have the SP27073 softPaq (ROM 1.10), which supposedly "fixes the sleep mode SD power drain." But this still happened.

Any ideas, here? Anyone else have this issue?

That's just the OS ROM update. There is actually a SDIO driver update on HP's website. Here's the link to the driver:

Is a 2% per hour power drain with the SD card inserted and the power off normal? This would mean my fully charged 2210 would drop to 84% battery life after a good nights sleep. I knew the SD card would increase power consumption but was surprised at this level. Usually, I lose several percent of the battery overnight when the iPAQ is "off."

I just purchased a Kingston 256 MB SD card. I have not yet upgraded to ROM 1.1 but do have the SDIO RAM patch applied.

Can one of you or someone out there please provide your experience or suggestions? Any objective numbers or observations would be outstanding.

i have both CF and SD slots full all the time and i gotta tell you that my device uses 2% power a day when fully off.
you definately have a problem for sure.
just install the patch and upgrade rom version.
