Anybody have any thoughts on when Verizon might come out with a cool phone? They have always been so behind, and I would LOVE to see an Sony Ericsson or other model phone come around.
Either that or I wish I could get CDMA service from GPRS. :)

Rumor has it that Verizon will be announcing a few new phones this week and the next. But take that at face value - it's a rumor. ;)

Yep, we're all waiting for that one. Rumors suggest between a week to end of August to never, though. :|

I am a Verizon subscriber through work, not by choice.
Looks like all of the PPC Phones (like the new HP 6300) will not work on Verizon's network.
What to do, what to do...

Currently, the i700 is offered, and while it's certainly no 6300, it's serviceable. Rumor has it the WM2003 upgrade will be released this week. 1xRTT is certainly very fast. :)
Hopefully, newer Pocket PC Phones will hit Verizon, but there's no official announcements yet.

yea- this is pretty cool. Not the slickest thing I've seen, but it's cool.
anyone know if it's running any smart os at all? or if it will be able to PIM sync over bluetooth?

No smart OS -- just a Motorola OS AFAIK. As for Bluetooth sync, my guess is yes, but I have no concrete information to back that up.

Phonescoop is the best place for phones.
They have reviews and specs on all the current phones. Check it out here: Verizon Phones (http://www.phonescoop.com/carriers/carrier.php?c=2) I like the LG VX 7000.
They also have phones that have not been released but that are up for approval of have been aproved by the FCC, which means that they will be coming out soon. This is there Home page Phone Scoop (http://www.phonescoop.com/)

Which one? The Samsung i700 is there as of this moment. The Moto V710 hasn't been released yet, so it wouldn't be there.

If you like small phones, you will like the Audiovox 8600; that's what I got and I am very happy. It's just a basic phone, no brains, no camera, no fancy stuff, but it does web and games. And it's the smallest phone I've ever owned, perfect for my tiny hands, I love it!

I thinkphonescoop start posting phones that are not released yet.
Even the Razr V3 (http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=547), mpx220 (http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=478) and A630 (http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=418) are already there.
They put this little note though:
This phone has not been released yet. All specifications and features are preliminary and subject to change.
