I was wondering, does Embedded Visual C++ 4 require Visuall C++ header files, or does it only use the included header files?
I'm wondering about this because I wanted to know if it was possible to use a nother IDE and compiler (specificly Dev-C++).

eVC 4 includes everything you need, you don't have to have Visual C++ installed to use it. As for Dev-C++ I'm afraid I don't know much about it, though I would hazard to guess that you'd have a better experience building and debugging an app targeting the Pocket PC through one of Microsoft's tools.

Thanks for the reply!
The odd thing is that when I used the self extractor, the only folder extracted was the "include" folder, so I thought you had to use it with a nother compiler, but after reading this post I deleated those files and reextracted the files and now everything is there.
Thanks!

why would you want to use another compiler than eVc 4.0 ?
plus do you find an alternative?

I didn't want too, but when I used the self extractor and then went to the extracted folder, the only thing there was a couple a folder with header files in it :?
