What's the best way to set up my Ipaq 2215 so I can hold down one of my buttons and it automatically starts recording speach???

I've simply mapped the Record application to one of the hardware buttons. Then, all you have to do is press the button once to start the application and press and hold it to record.

 Sorry to seem naive, but I also would like to be able to voice record with my 2215 by simply pressing a button....you mentioned mapping...can you explain this please?
Greatly appreciated....

Go to Start ==> Settings ==> Buttons. From the list at the top, highlight the button you want to remap. From the "Button assignment" pick-list at the bottom, choose "Record."

You can map the buttons to launch programs, bring up some of the menus, scroll, etc. Since I read ebooks in landscape mode on my 2215, I have remapped buttons 2 and 3 to scroll up and down. The d-pad was way to sensitive and often skip through several pages at a time.

Thanks for the info on mapping the buttons...by the time I read your post I'd figured it all out for myself.
But I appreciate that you took the time to respond.
Thanks again.
