XCPUScalar 2.80 released

Personally I just like the CPU meter doing it's thing at the top of the screen while my Axim X5 runs from 100 to 500Mhz.

Is this like the Win2k/XP CPU meter that dynamically indicates processor usage? If so, does it indicate 100% when the unit exhibits one of its mysterious hangs? ;)

Installed it on my iPAQ 5555. Nice!

Programs that are resident in RAM and don't need access to the SD card are a definitely improved. Performance is very snappy. I tested 477MHz and it was a very good improvement. Going from 477MHz to 530Mhz wasn't as dramatic an improvement. I'm very happy with the performance.

I have a fairly large Trans/ACT! database on the 512MB SD card and it doesn't seem to help much in loading the file into memory. Once the data is loaded, performance seems to be improved. I would say about 15% performance increase.

Going from 400MHz to 477MHz REALLY improved Pocket TV playback of large files. Regardless if the file was located on the SD card. Going to 530MHz helped a little. When switching to/from full screen, the higher speed helped the transition. It was instantaneous and was handled with no sweat. I noticed though that big image changes in the video was noticeable, though I attribute this to the display subsystem not keeping up.

Now this has REALLY wet my appetite for the hx4700. ANOTHER 100Mhz, VGA and probably a faster bus & video subsystem. One word: WOW!

Yes - exacty, it updates once a second or so. It's one of the reasons I really like it. :D

when playing a video on Pocket TV. The video did'nt skip nearly as much.
