The review is just what you would hope for with plenty of screenshots and benchmarks. I bought XCPUScalar last year and have been very happy with it. Yes I know there are free alternatives, but having used them for while, I still found it worthwhile switching to it. If you're thinking of the best way to get that extra bit of oomph out of your PPC, then it's worth your while to see what Pocketnow think of XCPUScalar. And hey, any review that starts with a quote from Spaceballs has to be worth a look, hasn't it? :wink:

Yup. Looking forward to an updated XPCUScalar soon. I wonder how high the new CPUs can be overclock to? :twisted:

hi to everybody:

The downclocking to the xscale cpu not necesary give more battery. In fact it only give a 3% +/-. Even more, there are some cases that the downclocking the xscale cause to a less batery charge (?). Why?. Who known?.

I believe the problem is when a low clock speed is used with a high CPU utilisation, i.e. 200mhz at 30% CPU may use less power than 100Mhz and 60% CPU utilisation. As they say, your mileage may vary. :wink:

Hey, there's a new version out (2.80). Here's the new processors/speeds supported:
"XCPUScalar now has support for all popular frequencies from 100 to 741MHz. PXA250 XScale processors can be scaled upto 500MHz and PXA255, PXA261, PXA262 or PXA263 XScale processors upto 530MHz at 265MHz bus speed and PXA270 processors upto 741MHz"
