Wow, interesting. Makes me wonder if they are rolling out a new version of the site for the upcoming OEM devices.

For me it saysWe’re sorry, we were unable to service your request. As an option, you may visit any of the pages below for information about Microsoft services and products.

They must be doing some web site work...

If you go through the Windows Mobile site and pick the Pocket PC under devices you get this page:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/pocketpc/default.mspx

And www.pocketpc.com points you here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/products/pocketpc/

Shouldn't take long to fix!

But it is. I'm getting:

Directory Listing Denied
This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.
That's in Mozilla. In IE, I get:

We’re sorry, we were unable to service your request. As an option, you may visit any of the pages below for information about Microsoft services and products.
And a list of links.

Maybe they got hacked. Let's see if they get it up before Longhorn comes out.

Sometimes a DNS change takes more than 2 hours to propagate...

Give it a day...

Nifty OT: Outlook parses URLs in the headers. I did not notice that before.

Seems to be back now (at least for me).

I haven't been there in a while so I can't see what, if anything has changed.

Yup, it looks like the issues have been "resolved"!

For me, too.

I don't go there much, either, so I wondered the same thing. It does look different than I remember, but that was a while ago. Does anybody see any new changes?

Even if there are changes, why would it have to go down for a few hours? I'd think they'd test new pages in a private area, then blast them to the real Web site at once to minimize downtime.

If they made DNS changes, as Steve C. alluded to, that might explain it. But what needed to change?

It's greener, and it seems easier to find what you're looking for - kinda like it was when PPC2002 first came out.

And SmartPhones now have a separate site. ;)
