There are several (certainly for-pay, can't remember free off the top of my head), but unless your Pocket PC has Consumer IR (CIR), the range is going to be very poor.

is the 2215 CIR? I personally love the program (nevo) it comes with, I have a blast turning off random TV's and things like that, confuses people to no end :)

Not necessarily. I had a jornada 568 with PDAWin TV remote controller installed on it, and I could get more than 20 feet of range using the IR.

That's quite impressive. Most non-CIR PDAs have a few feet at most.

In any case, a Google search for "remote control pocket pc" turns up a bunch of relevant links, which you may find useful. :)

I'm not sure why, because I know little about programming and IR, but I can only guess that it had something to do with the software. I had V1.0 installed initially, and it would only reach about 5-8 ft. When I tried V3.0, I was getting more than twice the distance with the same device.

I haven't tried this program for sometime because I got hooked on Nevo with my iPAQ 3970. Now that I no longer have Nevo (because HP in their infinite wisdom decided that it wasn't needed on a business class machine) I should try this again with my 5550 to see if I get similar results.
