I use to love Tech TV: The Screen Savers is a great show, often showcasing Dale Coffig (www.pocketpcpassion.com), Call For Help was amusing, and their misc. shows were informative. Now it sucks. G4 is a pre-teen, find out the latest cheats, channel. Nothing informative and barely qualifies as tech. The Screen Savers web site is horrible. I saw they have the show notes for July 8th (today is June 28th). It use to be clean, effective, and a great source of information. Now it is hard to tell the difference between an ad and what was news. They barely have show notes now, 'free download of the day' is nowhere to be seen.

So my question is, what do all of you think about the G4TechTV merger?

I wish they would tone down on the video game shows and have more computer ones.

I think they were on the way down before the merger. I used to watch the screen savers all the time but now I barely look to see what they have going on. Gone are the days of Leo and Kate, and the programing they have now just sucks.

im fed up with the loss of Call For Help. I liked techtv the way it was.

This is just another case of executives not having any clue about technology. They think that all gamers are techies/geeks and vice versa, when that is far from true. I like both gaming and consider myself a geek, but I'd rather see these stations on different channels. This has a lot of the geek community very angry at Comcast, you should just read the comments on Slashdot in response to this. It'll be interesting to see the Nielson ratings for the new station compared to the past two.

I don't watch tech tv any more. Also anyone thinks that the new logo is lame? It looks ugly and takes too much space on the screen.
