The guys over at Mobile-Review have just put up the second part and overall, I'd say they rather liked it:<br /><br /><i>"I liked the handheld for its screen, size and functionality. The existence of Compact Flash here is justified, as you can store films with high resolution, plug CF Wi-Fi cards (for the version with a single wireless adapter) and CF GPS cards. Asus handhelds were always associated with a strict design, high productivity and a long battery life. The time to change this stereotype seems to come. As for the design it resembles that of HP iPaq. The battery life got shorter because of a power-hungry screen and less capacious battery." </i><br /><br />There's good run through the camera's functionality, the software bundle and the wireless connectivity. Have a look to see whether this really is the rightful inheritor of the HP 4150's mantle. ;-)

camera's quality is disappointing...and what's the deal with PIE under VGA? if you don't get to see more of the webpage, then what's the point?! Someone screwed up on the implementation here....

And this is a suprise? :|
Sorry but the quality on these things is never going to match that of a real camera. At DMT there is a thread saying how phone/PDA cameras may supplant disposable camera (http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=42765#42765), but the quality with that tiny lens and all the compromised means that it's never going to be a main camera for keeping memories of important events like weddings or holidays.

You know... with these cameras, I would trade resolution for quality. In other words, take a really GOOD picture at 640x480 instead of a crappy one at 1280x900 or whatever. Oh well. Not enough spacing for the lens I think.

Watch what you say there, camera tech moves real fast and Japan now has 2.1megapixel cameras on cellphones that beat the picture of most 3.2megapixel standalone digicams.

Please prove your point with some link or pictures, I am really interested about it.

Sorry Fishie, but I don't believe that for one second. As Huangzhinong said, I'd be very interested to see real pictures.
I do not believe that it is possible for an embedded camera to beat a decent dedicated camera. Jack of all trades, master of none etc.

Did anyone notice at the end of the review stating that:
"P.S. Next week we’ll introduce an exclusive review on new PDA by Compal that features lots of interesting things (there is still no info and photos in the Internet, the announcement is planned for the August)."
Did anyone hear about the Compal PDA :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:
