I have a T610/4150 combo at the moment, and I'm getting a bit annoyed about how making/receiving a call kicks me off my bluetooth internet on my PPC. I'm pretty sure there isn't a way to fix this problem between the two devices, but do PPC Phones do the same thing? I figured since the phone is built in to the PPC, then the bond would be tighter. I mainly want to stay on AIM all the time, even if somebody calls me or if I make a call. It would also be nice to be able to search MapQuest or something while talking on the phone, too. I'd really appreciate a response... thanks!

This is common in all GPRS connections. Devices are separated in three classes:
C: data connections have to be manually interrupted when a call comes in
B: data connections are automatically interrupted when a call comes in
A: data connection and voice calls can happen at the same time.
There are no Class A GPRS device available in the market. All are currently Class B. Using a Pocket PC Phone Edition or Smartphone will not solve your problem.

Maybe it doesn't loose the BT pair, but can you actually continue to surf/be logged in on Messenger when a voice call comes in, or is initiated?

Are you sure there aren't any Class A devices? The T-Mobile SideKick Color did exactly what I wanted... It's a shame that thing was so bluky, though. I actually looked up something on google while I was talking on the phone.. it was pretty awesome.

Maybe some new phones are class A, but not all phones have this. I can't find any information on this on SE site.

i have to go with Kowalski on this one too. When surfing and using aim on my 2215, i never lose connection when calls come in. I also have the z600. Infact...when i had the t68i, that was something i hated and it use to annoy the hell out of me. I remember screaming at a friend of mine one day because i was trying to send an e-mail and she wouldn't stop calling. But when i got the z600 it never happened....which is why i love my z600 even more!

Interesting how the Z600 is the only one that does that... are there any other phones out there that are able to do this?

I use a Sony Ericsson T610 on the T-Mobile network, paired to my iPAQ 4100 and am able to take an inbound call while surfing. I don't know exactly how/why it works that way, but I don't ask questions when stuff is working.

Brad, do you take the call on a BT headset, a wired handsfree, or just with the T-610 directly? If the latter, when did you grow the extra hand? :)

I have a h2215 and a SE T610. I'm able to receive and make calls while connected. The internet connection is suspended while on a voice call, but I'm able to continue right where I left off when I hang up. If I'm on a voice call for too long, my internet connection will get disconnected. Somewhere around 5 or 10 minutes.
